LawPods is hiring a copywriter with a legal background and strong opinions about the Oxford comma to craft and edit copy for legal podcast episodes.

Our clients show up for podcast interviews while we handle everything else (strategy, outlines, virtual recording, editing, show notes, transcripts, marketing videos/images/audio, website posting, and social media.)

Role Description

  • Reviewing audio and transcripts from podcast episodes

  • Identifying the topics, main ideas, key moments, and resources mentioned

  • Drafting a summary, list of key moments with timestamps, adding speaker bio/links, and researching and linking to any relevant resources mentioned

  • Selecting engaging clips from each episode for audio/video/image marketing assets

  • Proposing catchy titles for episodes and marketing assets

  • Working closely with producers and project managers to ensure accuracy across every project

  • Consistently documenting and refining our processes and procedures

  • Think on the client’s behalf - you must be strategic and understand the larger picture; you can’t get caught in the weeds

  • Understand clients' podcast and their history with LawPods to have a precise understanding of each client's needs

  • Continuously study the industry, use the resources we make available, and study our existing work for clients to develop a clear understanding of how we work and how to draft copy that accurately captures the client's voice and brand

You Have...

  • 2+ years experience copywriting in the legal industry. The role requires drafting engaging marketing content, so it is critical to have a background in drafting marketing copy. Podcast show notes writing experience is a plus, though not required.

  • Preference will be given to JD & LL.M. graduates. Our clients frequently discuss complex and nuanced topics, so a background in law is essential.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • The ability to discern relevant material within conversational audio

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate

  • Experience with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar) and project management software (Asana experience a plus)

  • Not offended by colorful language

  • Able to work US Eastern Time
