The Business Development and Marketing (BD&M) Senior will assist the Transactions Practice Group through efficient, effective, and integrated execution of strategic activities as defined within the firm and practice group’s strategic plans. This individual will have strong project management skills needed to manage and execute projects, programs, and activities that support business development and marketing initiatives. This position’s primary role will be to support and promote one core Transactions Practice, and support the Health Care Practice in close collaboration with the BD&M Senior Manager. This is a highly collaborative role where short-term projects and long-term strategy meet to provide our practice groups and attorneys with the support they need to generate revenue and enhance the Foley brand. This position can be based out of several cities where there is a Foley office.


  • Work with practice group leaders, partners, and BD&M leadership to develop and execute on specific marketing goals, initiatives, and strategies to support business development
  • Collaborate with attorneys and team members to identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities with existing practice group clients and other firm clients and targets
  • Serve as a catalyst to encourage and support attorneys to engage with clients and sell and cross-sell firm services
  • Contribute to, and lead, writing projects including customized content for pitches and RFPs, event invitations, and other internal/external communications
  • Promote practice groups via the firm’s social media channels and other digital media outlets
  • Maintain the integrity of the firm’s experience database, working with the PR and CRM teams and attorneys to collect experience and organize it effectively, update practice group collateral regularly, and work with attorneys to update their bios
  • Assist with the management, publishing, and promotion of thought leadership
  • Manage the execution of events, conferences/seminars, client entertainment, and client receptions, including logistics, invitations, materials, follow-up communications, and ROI tracking
  • Oversee drafting and submission of rankings and directories
  • Leverage Foley’s marketing technology to identify potential leads and track and manage opportunities and pursuits
  • Effectively collaborate with all teams within the BD&M Department, including Communications, Events, Client Development, RFP/Proposal, Competitive Intelligence, Sectors and Industries, Branding and Creative Services, and Marketing Systems and Operations, to create and implement practice group marketing projects, facilitate business development efforts, and support client service opportunities
  • Occasional travel to other firm offices for events and to meet with attorneys



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field required 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of marketing and/or business development experience with at least two years of professional services experience
